After putting the whole thing together and photographing it, I really think I should have matted the image on a piece of riding hood red paper to make it stand out a little more... hmmm...
This card definitely fit the original purpose of my Flashback Fridays. I used retired DSP, a very old stamp, and the snowflake brad was also from my older stash! After putting a little glitter on the snow drifts, I decided to glitter up the brad as well. It looked much better with a little bling!
I hope all of my fellow Americans enjoyed some fireworks and festivities over the holiday! Our day was pretty low key- a family cookout and then a trip in town to watch the fireworks display.
Card Recipe: Cardstock-baja breeze, whisper white, Ink-stazon black, various markers, Accessories-dazzling details, 1" circle punch, Flashback items-Ski Slope DSP, snowflake brad, snow family stamp (non SU)
I love this card and that stamp is just wonderful. I love snowman stamps and have several.
ReplyDeleteHi Margaret,
ReplyDeleteI see why you like this dp so much, it's gorgeous. Love your image and I think the blue looks good. It gives your card a clean, crisp feel. :-) I love it!!
It's so funny, I was looking at MM Sketches last night. I need to get moving on my Christmas cards so I am not in a panic come December. :(
Hugs,
Lisa xx
What a cute card and the snowmen image, sweet. I love all the little details and the colors, with the DP. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteOh Margaret, this is so cute! LOVE that image and the DP you put with it is perfect. I think it's great just as is! Very cute and pretty at the same time.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a great weekend.

This is really sweet Margaret, you will be out of the old paper soon enough, if you keep at this pace.

Oh, oh, OH, oh ohhhhh.....I realllly LOVE this card! Your coloring is sensational Margaret. This is top for a Christmas card. The sentiment running along the hat looks sensational too.
ReplyDeleteREALLY awesome job here. :)
LOVE the stamp image =) It looks nice as is, especially with the glittery snowdrifts. If you really think it nees something, here are a couple ideas: Depending on the type of adhesive you used, could you try to loosen it with heat to remove the panel ? Otherwise, tuck scrap pieces of paper just under the edges and run a Chisel edge red marker or line a liquid glue and glitter along them. Simplest yet: just use the doodling end of a marker to freehand a thin, sketchy line around the edges !
ReplyDeleteThis is soooo cute.. Love the Image and your design.. Beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is a great card Margaret. I don't think you needed to change a thing. When there are snowmen involved, it's always a good thing! :)
ReplyDeleteThis is adorable with the sweet snowmen, Margaret! I'm glad to see that I'm not the only hoarder trying to use up my Christmas paper. You need to post these on the Merry Monday (Always Playing with Paper site. For the whole month we're doing past sketches. I know everyone would want to see your cards there.
