Flashback Friday-More ready to go pages!

Hello! I'm back again sharing more finished pages thanks to my container of ready made pages!  When I first started stamping, I went to a lot of classes and often we made scrapbook pages as well.  I am really bad at using these, mainly because the colors aren't quite what I want or the photos are the wrong direction or size.  However, I am really trying to make myself use them because they make finishing a page SUPER EASY.  That and I'm taking a Kiwi Lane class this weekend to make, you guessed it, ready to go scrapbook pages!  I don't really need the pages, but I'm really intrigued by the Kiwi Lane templates.  We'll see where it goes from here.

I really don't know most of the materials used since they are papers or stamps I personally have in my stash.  

Going through these finished pages has reminded me that I do have a lot of pages for inspiration and I really need to play with some fancy and fun pages from time to time. I just might have to shift from clean and simple every once in a while just to keep things interesting!

The last of the graduation cards

I think this year just might be the record breaking year for graduation parties!  Guess that's what happens when your oldest is in high school!  Because of the number of celebrations, I decided to make a few multiples instead of many individual cards (time crunch, anyone?!).  I did manage to personalize them a bit with school colors and changing the background pattern paper to fit the recipient's interests when I could.

Both of the cards shown are the same basic design and I also made a few more that used this same style.  I decided to show two of them to share how to make a unique card without changing the layout.  The first one used book print paper paired with the spiral punch for a general academic feel.  On the second card, I swapped out the words for music note paper.  This made an easy, but personalized touch for the musical graduates.  Even swapping out paper and ink colors can give a more individualized addition.

Of course, I'm sure most of the grads were more pleased with what was on the inside of the cards, but it made me feel a little better about giving something personal to go with the cash and gift cards!

I have been quite busy cleaning and organizing this past week.  My goal is to purge/clean out the entire house by the end of June.  Wish me luck!!  We are hoping to have some solid plans in place very soon to finally dig our basement and prepare for our new home!  I can't really call it 'moving' since our new house will still be on the same property that we are currently living, but the less things I have to relocate, the better!

Flashback Friday-On a Roll

Hello! I am so glad you stopped by today!  I have really been trying to get some scrapbook pages completed lately and am happy to say I have two more to share with you today!  If you read the post title, you will know that this uses my retired and older stash of supplies, hence the flashback...

The pictures are a bit of a flashback too.  These were from several years ago and it amazes me how much the girls have changed!  Now neither one of them ride the kiddy rides and would rather spend most of their visits at the water park instead of visiting Santa!

I used some older Page Maps sketches for my two page layout.  I 'm trying to use a lot more of my older DSP since I have so much, and I dug out the retired brights DSP pack for these pages.  There's still a lot left, but it's a little less than before :)

I hope you are inspired to take a look at your older neglected supplies (and photos), pull them out, and use them!  Have a wonderful weekend and may all your days be crafty!

Scrapbook Monday-The big 5-0

Hello and welcome to another Scrapbook Monday!  I am so glad you popped in to visit!

A few years ago, we had a surprise 50th birthday party for my sister.  Her birthday is a week before my daughter and she thought she was going to my daughter's party.  She was very surprised when she walked in and saw black decorations and lots of people yelling at her!  My oldest sister and I did the decorations for the party and my girls made her a crown made of black pipe cleaners and purple beads.  We also found these awesome pink and purple feather boas at the dollar store and had to buy two for the birthday girls to wear.

I also started an album for her as a gift and here I am, a few years later, finally working on the pages...Since we decorated with lots of black, I went with that as the primary color and accented it with purple (my sister's favorite color!).  I'm hoping to get this album finished this week and maybe she'll get it before her next birthday!

Today's page is when she walked in and was crowned 'Queen for a Day'.  There's not a lot of SU product on this since I already had a packet of black and ivory scrapbooking supplies from a wedding project many moons ago.  Using up more of my stash...Yee! Haw!

Don't you just love my little blinged out owl?  Owls are another of my sis's favorite things.  I tried to replicate the whole crown theme with pearls and I think it turned out pretty good.  Well, time for me to get back to work.  I'm forcing myself to do more cleaning than crafting for the first few days of my break.  Hopefully I'll make enough progress to spend my last few days being super crafty.  Wish me luck!
