A Sneak Peek!

Right now you have a chance to get a sneak peek at some future DSP from the new catalog that will be out this summer!  I decided to play with it while making my card for the 411 challenge.  This is their 200th sketch challenge!! I used old olive, whisper white, and bashful blue card stock.  The DSP is from Paisley Petals.  Inks used were old olive, and crumb cake.  The butterfly and sentiment are from the stamp set Butterfly Prints and the floral stamp is from Just Believe (both are in the IB&C).  Other items used were the scallop trim border punch, basic pearls, and some retired bashful blue ribbon.  There is a punch for the butterfly, however, I chose not to use it so I could have the body & antenna attached to the popped up butterfly.  This made it easier to attach the pearls to the body too.  If you are interested in purchasing the DSP and a special peek stamp set, see my sneak peek post below!  TFL!

sketch challenge

I've had this stamp set for a little while and didn't quite know what to do with it.  Then I saw the sketch  challenge at the Stamping 411 site!  I also entered this in the SU Only Challenges and Hand Stamped Sentiments for Mother's day cards. Be sure to check out their blogs! The stamp set is Because I Care (a hostess set).  I used whisper white, certainly celery, and bashful blue card stock.  The cert. celery piece was embossed using the square lattice folder & the big shot.  I used bashful blue & certainly celery markers to color the image.  The sentiment is stamped with soft suede.  Accessories used were certainly celery grosgrain ribbon and basic pearl jewels.  The card reminds me of my Mom's hydrangeas, so this will probably be a card for her.  TFL!
*Update:  I just found out that I made the 411 Showcase w/ this card!  Too exciting!!

Sassy Susie

This fun card was from my birthday card class.  Sassy Susie is a retired stamp set, but the picture and sayings are so cute, I had to pull it out!  Cardstock colors used were certainly celery, pretty in pink, and whisper white.  The image is stamped in basic black and colored w/ markers.  I inked the edges with cert. celery and then added a little rhinestone bling on the side.  I love the phrase."Did someone turn the heat up in here... or is it the candles on your cake?"  Too funny!  TFL!

Fun Flowers

Talk about a CAS card!  I used wild wasabi, bashful blue, & whisper white cardstock.  The flower was created with the fun flowers die & the big shot.  I also inked the edges w/ bashful blue ink.  The base of the card is dry embossed with the square lattice embossing folder.  At my card class, everyone thought this one would be tough to create.  I think they were amazed at how easy it really was!  Gotta love the big shot! TFL!

Crafty Sistah's Challenge

o
Our challenge to use a DSP that we would not usually pick wasn't as bad as I thought.  I chose Woodland Walk.  While I love the colors in it, I wasn't sure exactly what to do with the patterns.  My first card used crumb cake, very vanilla & wild wasabi card stock.  The stamp is from Punch Bunch from SAB & I used the owl punch on the image.  The ribbon is retired chocolate chip.
card #2 for challenge also used a sketch from the 411 site (love that place!)  Cardstock colors are crumb cake, chocolate chip, and wild wasabi.  The satin ribbon is very vanilla.  Tools used were scallop circle, fun flower die & the big shot.  The friends stamp is from fabulous phrases and is stamped in chocolate chip. I also used this to distress the edges of the flower.

Card #3-used wild wasabi, crumb cake, and chocolate chip card stock.  The flower was made with the ornament punch and the square embossing folder.  I have to say that this set was easier to use once I started playing around with the patterns.  TFL!

Birthday Bliss

Another card from the class and yes, fellow SU folks, I know, I totally CASEd this from the Sale-a-bration catalog!  This was the first time I used the smooch spray and I LOVE it!  Card stock used was so saffron, whisper white, and pacific point (punched w/ scallop edge).  Inks used were crumb cake, so saffron, old olive, and melon mambo. I also used the linen thread and log cabin smooch spray.  TFL!

'Whooo' has a birthday?

This cute little card is also from my birthday card class.  The owl stamp is from Punch Bunch which was part of the SAB catalog.  We used the owl and large scallop punches.  The card stock colors are crumb cake, wild wasabi, very vanilla and chocolate chip.  The DSP paper is woodland walk (which is also my paper for this month's challenge-1 down, 2 to go...)  The chocolate chip ribbon is retired.  Everyone at the class loved the coordinating stamp and punch!  TFL!

Scalloped Birthday

This is one of the cards from my class!  I used the scalloped happy birthday stamp which was from a free set from the Sale-A-Bration catalog!!  I used old olive, tempting turquoise, and whisper white cardstock.  Inks were real red, tempting turquoise, and old olive.  I stamped the images, then used the scallop square punch to cut them out.  I also added a stampin' dimentional to the back for a little 'pop'.  I also accented w/ red ribbon.  The little sentiment at the bottom is from the fabulous phrases stamp set (one of my favorites!).  TFL!
