Day 14- The Last of the Christmas Cards!

Hello and welcome to day 14! This post celebrates two accomplishments! The first is the completion of my Christmas cards and they're all in the mail now!! The second is that as you read this, I am celebrating our family's annual cookie day.  Yes, I have the arduous task of making, baking, and tasting lots of yummy Christmas cookies! How will I manage??  This is one of my favorite Christmas activities because not only do I spend the day with my favorite ladies, we also recreate some of the recipes that have been in my family for generations.  As an added bonus, most of these cookies will be given as gifts which means I can cross that off of my list too!

My last card uses one of my favorite Christmas stamps.  I love the vintage style of Christmas Postcard and it's fun to color too!

After coloring the image, I added some cherry cobbler dazzling details and yellow glitter glue for just a bit of sparkle.

BTW- No, I did not forget how to count... Day 13 is still in the works and will be posted as soon as I finish my project and get a decent photo!

Merry Monday Challenge and Internet issues

Hello! I'm back with another post this weekend!! I'm trying to get some of my Christmas cards squeezed in here before I go crazy with my new goodies!

I have another card using the Merry Moments DSP and some other retired goodies!  I even broke out the color spritzer to 'age' my image. Almost had to knock the dust off that baby! But I do love the effect from the splattered marker ink!

 

I used sketch #10 from Merry Monday.  They are still running their past sketches challenge so I'm also entering this one to play along with the current challenge.  This runs until the end of July so you have plenty of time to play along!!

If I have not been by to visit your blog lately, I promise I have not forgotten you!  We were without phone and internet service for over a week, so I wasn't able to get online unless I packed my laptop to the library to use the free Wi-Fi.  If it wasn't for scheduling posts ahead of time, my poor blog would have been really neglected!  We are now back in service and hopefully they have fixed my connection issues so I can pop in and visit all of you crafty people!!

How many days left????

I don't know about everyone else, but this month has flown by for me!  I had a lot of cards made by the first week of December and I believe it tricked me into thinking I was prepared. WRONG!  There are still a few gifts to finish and a couple of last minute cards to make, plus all of the wrapping, baking, and cleaning...

I did take a little time to check out blogland and found that a card that I had floating in my head would fit well with some challenges!  SUO Challenges is looking for Merry, Happy, or Joyous greetings. My card has Merry right on the front! Top Tip Tuesday wants Anything Christmas and a tip. Here's my tip: when using a large focal image, I cut my strip or ribbon behind the image to save paper.  This is also a great way to use up smaller pieces of cardstock and ribbon. After all, no one will see it behind the focal point!  While this may not be a new tip for more seasoned stampers, it might be something new and less frugal (I refuse to call myself cheap!) stampers have not considered.  This card also fits The Squirrel and the Fox's request for Christmas.  Wow! One card, three challenges!!

This card is using some new 'sneak peek' items from Stampin' UP (demo perk!) and a stamp I have yet to ink up before this card!
