Throwback Thursday-Fall Formal

It's Thursday and that means another Throwback day using my older stash.  And today is truly a throwback because everything on these pages are old! Well, not the adhesive or photos... but everything else practically had to have the dust blown off!

I pulled out Autumn Traditions, which is almost completely gone now, and made the first two layouts.  The third called for something a bit more sparkly and I used some VERY old glitter paper.  I can't tell you how much glue and adhesive I had to use to get anything to work on that paper.  Now I know why it hasn't been used!

My pages feature DD2's last high school formal. Years ago, it was in January and called the Snowball Formal, but between bad weather and busy sports scheduling, they moved it to the end of November.  Hence the name change to Fall Formal. The photos on the first page were taken at my home where we still had our fall decor on display.  The second page's photos were at a friends, who decided to decorate for Christmas for the occasion.  The last page is my favorite and truly captures the spirits of both girls.

Cheater's guide to scrapbooking

Hello! I have a bit of a confession to make today.  I sorta kinda cheated on these pages!!  In my quest to use my older papers, I unearthed a set of Debbie Mum premade pages.  Just add photos, tags, and taaaadaaa! Instant scrapbook layout!  I can't even begin to tell you when I bought them, and I'm not sure why I bought them since this usually isn't my thing.

Of course, on the first one I couldn't just add a photo.  I had to add the lettered title and I tucked a little handmade tag behind the photo with some extra journaling.  The second one is pretty much a 'cheat' page.

I don't really have much to say about these except that they were crazy easy and there are two less papers in my use it up tote!

I have been scrapping like a mad woman over the weekend, so I will have lots more to share this week.  Thanks so much for popping in to see me!

Flashback Scrapbook Friday

Hello and TGIF!  I have spring fever so bad and it is killing me to be inside at work all week where there are so many other things I could be doing!  Like updating my blog!!!

I still have a few photos of scrapbook pages from my crop that I have not shared and I thought that since the papers are old and now the pictures are a little bit old, we'll just call it a Flashback!

Today's layouts are not anything fancy and were completed rather quickly once I knew what I wanted.

Another Fifth Sunday at Anything But a Card Challenges

Hello!  In case you had not noticed, this month has 5 Sundays in it.  That means there is a mini challenge going on this week at Anything But a Card Challenges to create something with five.  That's it; no other requirements (other than the whole card thing...) needed.  It can be the number five, five items- the sky's the limit!

I went to a Relay For Life cancer fundraiser crop this weekend and had the most wonderful time with my oldest DD and many incredibly talented ladies.  Lots of food, lots of laughs, and lots of creating for a very good cause.  My five could also easily be the five pounds I probably gained from all of the yummy snacks and meals, but instead I'll share a photo of my five flowers I made on this scrapbook page.  You really don't want to see me with my extra five pounds!

I used the Boho Blossom punch to make the flowers, inked the edges and put them together with some very old green brads I had in my stash.  That's one of the good things about crops-they make you use what you brought!

I have also decided I love my tag topper punches! These are so awesome for dressing up journaling!  I was a little proud that when we left the crop, I had scrapped all of the photos I had brought with me.  Feels pretty good to be putting a few more pages in my girls' albums!

Scrappy Saturday

Hello! I hope you are enjoying your weekend!  I managed to get a few scrapbook pages put together this week.  Most of them were extremely simple, like five pages at a sitting simple, so I'm not going to share those.  They were much more about getting the people, place, and story onto the page.  I did however want to share this one-also very simple but a bit more interesting to view!

I am once again determined to use up some of my older paper stash and the green base has been with me for a long time.  The stickers were also as old as the hills... Felt good to use them and have a little fun at the same time!  I love the 'spunky saucy silly sister' one! Perfect for both girls!

The photos were from several years ago.  We would often go to the riverwalk in a nearby town after seeing the free movies they offer in the summer.  My oldest loved these trips because when she was a preschooler, we lived in that town and would often visit this park.  That is one thing we do miss about living in town, but now they have a whole farm complete with fields and woods to explore, and an awesome sledding hill for the winter!

Anything But A Card Challenges you to Summer Lovin'!

Hi! We have a brand new challenge at Anything But a Card.  Summer Lovin' is our theme and we would love to see your summer lovin' creations-beach, bbq, camping, vacation, sunny colors, anything that says summer to you is great with us!  The only thing you can't share is a card, hence the name of the site!  However, I am not sharing my DT project this week, so I CAN share a card with YOU!

This would be perfect for the theme if we could make cards! Mr. Riley is so ready to cool off in the pool, lake, or ocean...yeah! Let's go with ocean!  I made this for my nephew who has a birthday next month.  He would enjoy celebrating his birthday in the water too!

I played with the new Blendabilities markers on this one!  They are similar to copic markers, but Stampin' UP groups them in sets of three so coloring challenged people like me don't have to figure out how to get the perfect color shading.  Oh, how I love that!  I do have to confess that the flippers and the antlers were colored with copics.  While I'm admitting things, I fudged a little on the colors.  The marker family and cardstock is coastal cabana, but the blue in the dsp and twine is pool party.  But hey, at least they are both water themed!!  Honestly, I really couldn't tell that much difference.

Well, I hear the laundry calling my name (why doesn't it ever call my DH?), so I better get busy before it takes over again!  Have a wonderful week!
