Two challenge cards in one day? I'm on a roll! This card is for the paper piecing challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments. To be quite honest, this is not my favorite thing. This is why punches were created :-) But I sucked it up and got busy. The challenge mentioned patterned papers, but I didn't like the choices I had on hand. So I hope it's OK to use stamped card stock instead... I have to say that it turned out better than I thought it would! I used the stamp set Just Believe. Card stock colors were certainly celery, bashful blue, and whisper white. Inks used were certainly celery and bashful blue. You can't tell too well from the pic, but I also used Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz (adds a nice shimmer to the flowers). After cutting out the flowers, I used dimensionals to pop them up and added just a little bling with the basic pearl jewels. The certainly celery ribbon is some of my retired stash.
My site is named after my Black Lab, Shadow. Shadow received his name by being my constant shadow including while I am crafting. The running joke in my family was that due to the whole 'Labs shed A LOT', everything I created had a signature 'Shadow' hair hidden somewhere... While Shadow is no longer with us, I am lovingly reminded of him every time a random hair shows up in my craft room. Like our loved ones, Lab hair never really leaves us and that is a pretty comforting thought!

Gorgeous job Margaret! The background stamp is so pretty and for not being your favorite technique, it turned out beautifully. Thank you for joining us at Hand Stamped Sentiments.
ReplyDeleteGreat job on paper piecing the flowers. Great idea to use the card stock instead of dsp. The flowers coordinate beautifully with the background. Thanks for playing at Hand Stamped Sentiments.
ReplyDeleteMargaret, this is so beautiful! I just love the dimension you added with those paper pieced flowers. The shimmer spray gives it the perfect pop, too. Just gorgeous, in every way! Thanks so much for joining us at Hand Stamped Sentiments this week! :)
