Woo! Hoo! I have managed to make it through the month of January with my resolution intact! I've actually finished quite a few pages, nothing fancy, but my once a week post is usually my favorite of the week, or at least the one that I put more effort into! At this rate, I should have all of my 2011 pictures scrapped by summer, then I can tackle the horrific task of catching up all of the other years! Baby steps, Margaret...
Anyway... Today's page is a result of me looking at all of the scrapbook supplies I have collected over the years and deciding I really need to use them! My collection of stickers and embellishments alone could stock a store! And we won't even discuss my supply of paper! So in an effort to diminish my mountain of goodies, here is my page:
I love how the pictures turned out! Often, my rainbow pictures do not capture the color and intensity. While the colors were more vibrant in person, and the second rainbow was much brighter than in the picture, it is still an accurate capturing of the event. The color combo on this is a little unusual, but I did a lot of playing and swapping to make sure the rainbow remained the focal point. I received the proper approval from my DD, so I guess it turned out OK!
Page Recipe: Cardstock-crumb cake, whisper white, orange-from stash, Ink-soft suede (sponging), Accessories-photo corner punch, whisper white satin ribbon, flowers & border chipboard stickers from stash, title cut w/ cricut
My site is named after my Black Lab, Shadow. Shadow received his name by being my constant shadow including while I am crafting. The running joke in my family was that due to the whole 'Labs shed A LOT', everything I created had a signature 'Shadow' hair hidden somewhere... While Shadow is no longer with us, I am lovingly reminded of him every time a random hair shows up in my craft room. Like our loved ones, Lab hair never really leaves us and that is a pretty comforting thought!
Congrats on getting through the month of January with your weekly Monday post. Another great layout and love the rainbow pics.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos, Margaret! Congrats on sticking to your resolution, too. As an added bonus, you are using up the supply stash, too. That is always a good thing. I need to do that way more often then I do. (I hear you about the paper stash...eeek!!) Have a great day! :)
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness...this is breathtaking! Beautiful rainbow. :D
ReplyDeleteSuper fantastic photos!!! You captured that rainbow just perfect.
ReplyDeleteLove your scrap book page too...the daisy flowers are so pretty on here.

Oh a rainbow for her birthday! Mommy, how do you do it! LOL! I love this post!! I have a few rainbow pictures and not a clue how to scrap them - thank you for the inspiration! I think this is just wonderful - the soft colored papers and great design really give this gorgeous creation from Him center stage! And I'm sooo lovin' the handwritten note ... years from now that is what will make all of this so special! I'm so glad you are a scrapbooker, too - I need to get this done more and more! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteGreat lay out, I hear you on needing to actually use supplies!! ;) The photos you scrapped are gorgeous, too!
ReplyDeleteI love this layout Margaret and what a gorgeous rainbow. Awesome!
